Low Patient Awareness of OSA Consequences

A cross-sectional survey of 92 adults with diagnosed obstructive sleep apnea revealed substantial gaps in disease awareness. While basic diagnostic understanding was high, only 55% recognized key health consequences, and one in five demonstrated poor overall knowledge. The findings highlight the critical need for structured patient education to support treatment acceptance and long-term adherence.
